The common misconception of an ethical and healthy diet is that people think it consists mainly of fresh air, lettuce and water and that taking a more conscious approach to what you consume means sacrificing all of your favourite treats.
There are many companies proving that theory to be completely wrong these days. At Not To Die For we’ve sampled the creamiest chocolate, the sweetest snack bars, the fruitiest milkshakes and the spiciest crackers, all of which are ethical, vegan and really good for you! And now we get to enjoy our favourite fizzy drinks without the guilt too.
A fantastically ethical company is producing our favourite childhood flavours; cola, ginger ale and lemonade from Soil Association approved organic ingredients, ethically sourced from Fairtrade farmers across the world including South America, West Africa, Sri Lanka, India, The Negev Desert, Sicily, the River Jordan and New Zealand.
Karma Cola believe that what you drink should not only taste good, it should also be good for the land, the people who grow the ingredients and be good for you.
When Karma Cola started up, Fairtrade cola nuts didn’t exist so they set up the Karma Cola Foundation which supports eight communities in Sierra Leone. For every bottle sold, Karma Cola give the money back to the Boma and Tiwai communities. As a result children have had the chance to go to school, they’ve built a bridge, rehabilitated cola plantations and supported the farmers and their families in many other ways, including helping them to re-build their lives following civil war and ebola.
