There are SO many reasons to get excited in the run up to the festive season; looking forward to spending time off with loved ones, creating gift lists, endless party invites, mulled wine, Christmas market trips, but most importantly… sandwiches.
If there’s anything that’s going to get you into the yuletide spirit, it’s a festive-themed sarnie crammed with the nostalgic flavours of turkey, cranberries, winter veg and herbaceous stuffing.
Gone are the days when this lunch-time indulgence was reserved only for carnivores, as more and more high street retailers are launching their vegan-friendly Christmas sandwiches. We’ve rounded up a few of our faves so far …
The Very Merry Christmas Lunch by Pret
If you rate stuffing as the best part of your festive feast, then you’ll most likely love Pret’s Very Merry Christmas sandwich, filled with grilled carrots, crispy onions, baby spinach and a tasty stuffing, finished with port and orange cranberry sauce and crunchy pecans. Quite possibly a winner for 2018!
The Vegan Winter Sandwich by Starbucks
Starbucks’ yuletide sarnie offers pretty much a vegan Christmas dinner between two slices of pumpkin bread, with spiced roasted squash and carrot, cranberry dressing, fresh kale leaf mix and a red cabbage slaw. Y.U.M.
